Clubhouse is an invite-only, audio-focused app available on iOS (unlike Android), which was first launched in 2020.

Invitations are distributed only to existing users. Additional invitations can be obtained by participating in the platform by creating rooms and participating in conversations. People who are desperate to get an invitation can buy it on eBay for around £ 5.

Clubhouse is a cross between a conference call, talkback radio and podcasts. Users follow one another to listen or participate in conversations in the rooms on various topics. Audience members can raise a virtual hand to speak.
